On January the 13th, 2009 Alitalia Compagnia Aerea Italiana, born from the integration of the former companies Alitalia and Air One, started operations.
The new airline maintains the strong values and the best traditions of Italian aviation, making use of consolidated entrepreneurial and managerial energies, a renewed fleet and an extensive network of connections in order to guarantee functional and efficient transportation throughout the territory.
Alitalia operates in the cargo business with the renewed passenger fleet composed of 154 jet aircraft, of which 18 wide-bodies (B777-200s, B767-300s and Airbus 330s) in service on the long-haul routes, covering the most attractive destinations of the market (72 destinations: 23 domestic, 36 international and 13 intercontinental).
